Men's Hockey. Last time US won it was 46 years ago today. Miracle on Ice in 1980 at Lake Placid. Mike Eruzione won it and he is there to watch today.

Main difference is that today all 44 players from both teams play in the NHL. In 1980 all US players were college kids against the Russians. Most players were from Minnesota.....12

US wins Gold in overtime. Great goal tending by US.

Seeing Eruzione in the stands hits differently, especially with how much the game has changed. Stuff like hockey card breaks has actually been a fun way for me to stay connected to both the old-school stories and the modern NHL guys. It scratches that nostalgia itch while still keeping things tied to the current era.
